210-day contract  (plus $2,448 supplement) for a full school year.   The salary and supplement will be pro-rated based on hire date this school year.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Instructional Coach / Math and Literacy

 

Qualifications

1. Proven instructional expertise in literacy and math 
2. Experience in professional development leadership
3. Active Tennessee teaching license (elementary endorsement)
4. Elementary teaching experience preferred
5. Ability to work additional ten day contract outside of teacher contract (pro-rated if hired mid-year)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work at the elementary building level at one or more school sites under the supervision of the literacy and math curriculum specialists and building administrators.
2. Provide support to classroom teachers through professional development such as modeling lessons, co-teaching, and team teaching.
3. Assist teachers in selection of appropriate materials and resources.
4. Develop classroom intervention strategies to assist teachers in differentiating core instruction for struggling students.
5. Facilitate professional growth of classroom teachers through activities such as observation, conferencing, and constructive feedback.
6. Assist in developing intervention plans for identified students within the RTI²
7. Provide math and literacy interventions as necessary for identified students.
8. Implement progress monitoring and other assessments of students.
9. Attend RTI² meetings as necessary.
10. Serve as a resource person and sounding board for faculty, staff, and administrators.
11. Assist new teachers with the organization and management of their literacy and math programs.
12. Conference with teachers and/or parents to discuss concerns and experiences.
13. Develop a relationship of professional rapport with faculty, staff, and administrators.
14. Conduct professional development or facilitate professional learning communities with teachers, parents, and the community to reinforce the literacy and math curriculum used in the Jefferson County Schools.
15. Other duties as assigned by the building administrator, elementary supervisor, or the Director of Schools.
