$14.00 per hour; Full-time; 7 hours per day; 185 paid days per school year (includes 5 paid holidays); pro-rated if hired during the school year.

Qualifications
· Education: High School diploma or GED and minimum of 48 college semester hours or pass Paraprofessional assessment
· Bilingual in English and Spanish-fluent in speaking, reading, writing
· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work positively and productively with students, teachers, and parents.
· Meets health and physical requirements
· Has vehicle to travel from school to school (mileage will be reimbursed)
· Maintain professional confidentiality regarding students and families
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Primary Duty:
· Work with ESL students individually or small groups to reinforce and improve their understanding of the English language. [This could be read aloud tests, assist with homework, translate directions for newcomers, explain concepts or vocabulary.]
· Serve as a small group provider in core academic classes.
· Secondary Duty:
· Interpret for IEP and other meetings with Spanish speaking parents.
· Make phone calls/schedule meetings with Hispanic parents.
· Translate documents for administrators, schools, and teachers into Spanish.
· Act as a bridge between school and home for Hispanic families in a positive, helpful manner.
· Make copies of learning materials, tests, calendars, flyers, and related teaching materials.
· Monitor EL student progress in the classroom and relay information to ESL teachers.
· Document time appropriately on PARS spreadsheet.
· Perform related duties as required
