Job Description:
Jefferson County High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Digital Arts & Design (interim) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital arts, design principles, and industry-standard software. As a Digital Arts & Design Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students through a comprehensive program of study consisting of three courses: Digital Arts & Design I, II, and III.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Digital Arts & Design I, II, and III courses, focusing on building students' understanding of design principles, digital tools, and the creative process.
- Guide students in developing multimedia projects, web pages, three-dimensional designs, animations, photographs, and illustrations using industry-standard software.
- Foster creative and critical thinking skills in students to encourage innovative solutions to design challenges.
- Incorporate research techniques into project planning and execution to enhance project outcomes.
- Introduce students to professionalism and ethics within the digital arts industry, including career exploration, business management, and project management.
- Assist students in compiling artifacts for inclusion in digital portfolios, which will document their progress and achievements throughout the program of study.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Education, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in digital arts, design, or related fields.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Autodesk Maya, and other relevant tools.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, illustration, and photography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Dedication to continuous learning and professional development within the field of digital arts and design.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive and express their creativity.
