Distance Learning Support Teacher

• Communicate with distance learning families through email, phone calls, and video conferencing.

• Provide instruction (synchronous and asynchronous) to distance learning students on caseload as needed or as directed.

• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to provide support, instruction, and feedback to distance learning students as assigned; Support the classroom teacher in marking attendance and in grading assignments.

• Schedule small group and individual tutoring sessions with distance learning students.

• Participate in virtual and/or in-person training as needed; Working setting to be determined (combination of working at home or at schools).

• Will be trained in Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and any other technology platforms as determined by the district; the technology component should not prevent someone from applying.

• Must possess a Tennessee teaching license; will consider retired teachers who have an inactive teaching license; will share student accountability.

• Work a 47-day contract for the first semester; 62-day contract for second semester; 4 days a week for 7 hours a day (flexible schedule); submit a log of activities each week to supervisor.

• Salary is $175 per day ($25 per hour)
