- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce the learning of established lesson plans.
Organize daily materials for small groups
Teach small groups as needed/designated by the teacher
Have basic understanding of special needs of child in order to assist during activities
- Administer and score diagnostic tests when recommend by supervising teacher.
Interact with students as necessary to promote age appropriate play, language, etc.
Adapt classroom, playground, etc. for individual students as needed for learning.
- Monitor the behavior of students int he classroom and on the playground.
- Attend to the feeding, toileting, and personal needs of students.
- Prepare snacks for the children and clean up as necessary.
- Assist in circle time.
Participate as necessary with "hand-over-hand" activities with children
Help children sit as needed; adapt learning for special needs of children
- Prepare instructional materials
- Assist students upon arrival and departure from the classroom.
Remove and return to bus
Assist with adaptive/mobility equipment
- Assist with activities as prescribed by OT, PT, Speech & Vision
- Establish professional relationships with students, staff & parents
- Other duties as assigned by classroom teacher, school principal, Director of ECS, or
Director of Schools.
- Must be physically able to lift and carry the children
