This is an interim teaching position beginning 7/30/2024 through 5/23/2025.

 

Job Title: INTERIM Digital Arts & Design Teacher

 

Job Description:

Jefferson County High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Digital Arts & Design (interim) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital arts, design principles, and industry-standard software. As a Digital Arts & Design Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students through a comprehensive program of study consisting of three courses: Digital Arts & Design I, II, and III.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Digital Arts & Design I, II, and III courses, focusing on building students' understanding of design principles, digital tools, and the creative process.
  • Guide students in developing multimedia projects, web pages, three-dimensional designs, animations, photographs, and illustrations using industry-standard software.
  • Foster creative and critical thinking skills in students to encourage innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Incorporate research techniques into project planning and execution to enhance project outcomes.
  • Introduce students to professionalism and ethics within the digital arts industry, including career exploration, business management, and project management.
  • Assist students in compiling artifacts for inclusion in digital portfolios, which will document their progress and achievements throughout the program of study.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Education, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in digital arts, design, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Autodesk Maya, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, illustration, and photography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development within the field of digital arts and design.
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive and express their creativity.

Click on the link below to access the Proposed Certified Pay Scale for 2024-2025.  The salary is based on a 200-day contract for a full school year.  If the number of days is less than 200, divide the annual salary by 200 to get the daily rate, and then multiply the daily rate times the number of paid days.
